VINCENT VAN OVERVELD
I was born in 1989 in Amsterdam. At the age of eighteen, I began a months-long journey through India, driven by the search for answers and a deeper understanding of myself and others. Meditation and alternative paths provided inspiration for years, but eventually the need grew to discover what demonstrably works. Which processes guide us? What really helps to realize change and growth?
These questions led me to study psychology. During my studies I came into contact with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), based on Relational Frame Theory. Especially the broad approach to behavior within ACT and later Process-Based Behavior Therapy (PBBT) continued to fascinate me. Thoughts and feelings are not seen as separate, but as forms of behavior—something we actively do. Even behavior that is labeled as positive by the environment can become a personal prison.
For me it is about lifelong learning and continuing to grow in living courageously and maintaining valuable relationships. That does not mean that it always works, but it does mean that curiosity and development are central.
